Interesting Sources of Biomass Fuel
Biofuels from Renewable Energy Sources like Plants and Algae
Biofueling includes alot of biomass sources besides corn. There are new biofuel plants being tested and developed, such as switchgrass and jatropha seed oil. Australia: According to ABC Rural, Kalpa trees are a crop which can be used to make biofuel. Trials will be getting underway soon.
The Northern Territory and north-west Queensland will be the locations of the trees planted.
The oil from the Kalpa tree's nuts can be converted to a useful fuel.
Virginia: In Central Virginia, a company will start converting wood chips to wood pellets for heating. Argonaut Biofuels in Louisa County takes biomass products like wood waste and chips and converts them into other types of fuel. Pellets formed from various biomass sources are becoming popular fuels for home heating.
